Treasures in Heaven
This is a bible themed file folder game about storing up treasures in Heaven rather then here on earth.
Talk with children about how all money is God’s and we are just put in charge of it for a short time. The Parable of the Talents would be a good starting point for your discussion. Also teach children that the love of money can be a very real and dangerous sin, and that God wants us to put him first in everything.
Game Play: Children navigate the board by rolling a die, and everytime they land on a a space with a coin, they take a coin from the pile and store it up in their “Heavenly Treasures” box. Upon taking the coin, ask children to express one way we can use the money for the glory of God. (Give them some examples beforehand to get the ideas rolling……feed the poor, purchase a bible for someone, give to church, invest in a friendship, ect….)
Read (or have children read) the bible verses as they land on the corresponding spots.
The first child to reach “Heaven” gets 2 bonus coins. Once everyone reaches the end, count up the coins for the winner!
Since this game has a pirate theme as well, it would make a great game to have on hand for VBS if that is your theme!
I would love to hear how you plan to use the game, just leave me a comment below!
Blessings,
Valerie

“Love is…..Love is NOT” File Folder Game
This is a file folder game based on 1 Corinthians 13:4-6, and teaches children about Love.
This is a great game to have on hand around Valentine’s Day, as children can learn all about the true meaning of love. The game is setup as a gameboard on a file folder, and you’ll need you’re own “markers” and a die to play the game. Children navigate the board, choosing a “Love Card” every time they land on a red heart. They can answer the question using the verse as a guide.
I hope to share some more Valentine’s Day printables as I get them ready, so staytuned.
For now you can check out our Sister Site for more resources!

I’ve got lots of new printables for the topic of Prayer!

I’ve just uploaded a full set of Christmas Story Figures you can use to retell the Christmas Story:
There are a few different figures for each key part of the story:

Mary’s Good News
The Road to Bethlehem
Born in a Manger
The Shepherds Visit
Wise Men Follow a Star
These are great for fidgety little kids, as they love to watch the figures move as you tell the story.
Additionally, you could print the black and white versions for take home crafts, each week you could send children home with their own story puppets they can use to share what they’ve learned.

I’ve just added a new Bible Verse Minibook on 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone and the new has come”
These verse is alongside the life cycle of a butterfly, to show the transformation effects Christ has on us when we ask him into our lives.
There are color or black and white versions, and blank versions as well. The blank versions are great for children to practice writing in the verse, to aid in memorization. You can also use the blank versions to write in your own verse if you’d like them in a different version (i.e. the KJV or something)

Thanks to Becky for the suggestion of the verse from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, about the Value of a Friend. This verse was spoken at my wedding, so it was fun to get to make the “Three Cord” minibook for children to learn about.

This bible verse minibook is broken up into six different pages, each with a colorful picture to help children remember that part of the verse. There are blank versions available for children to look at the pictures to recall the verse, or for older children to practice writing in the verse.
I’ve made BW versions as well, so that you can save on ink, or have your children color them in for craft and activity time!
If you’d like to suggest a Bible Verse for this new endevor, please leave me a comment here below!

Valerie

For anyone in children’s ministry, I’d love to know what your Christmas Plans are for the year? What kinds of printables are needed for Christmas Celebrations and such?
